CISM strongly believes in the right of all human beings to pursue their physical and intellectual development, without discrimination. One important principle is to promote models of best practice that encourage inclusive opportunities and recognition for athletes with disability equal to those of their non-disabled peers.
CISM believes in international solidarity in accordance with their respective mandates and principles, in particular:
To showcase world class sport opportunities for athletes with disabilities, which are credible and compelling within a global medium and that reach large populations of spectators;
To promote models of best practice that encourage inclusive opportunities and recognition for athletes with a disability equal to those of their non-disabled peers;
To develop support of sport opportunities for male and female athletes with a disability;
To empower Para-athletes as leaders in their societies and more widely.
In this way, CISM invites the national delegations of the CISM Member Nations and the organizing committees of the CISM World Championships to consider Para Sport discipline as a means of reflecting the goals of CISM development and the ideals of the military sports movement.
Developing Para sport is one of the main Aims for CISM. With the aim of strengthening and promoting wider adoption of Para sport events and to offer a better and deserved sports competitions possibilities to the servicemen and women suffering from a physical impairment.
Priorities:
Structured Para-Sport program in CISM and finalizing para-sport regulations
Enhance Para-Sport knowledge within CISM Sports Department, PCSC’s, CoD’s and relevant athletes through RDC, training centers and other outside resource institutions
Continue Organizing Para-Sport Events
Encourage CISM Member Nations

In order to address the CISM BoD priorities and fulfill the original intent of the CISM Para-Sport program, linkage is the key to ensure success within the overall future of CISM Para-Sports
PSWG is working to achieve the following goals to success of the para-sport in CISM:
Support the CISM sports department and sports commission to develop and execute the para-sport strategy.
Support the organizers with knowledge about the organization of para-sport events.
Support the participating nations with knowledge about guidance and training of wis-soldiers/veterans.
Support PCSC’s to gather knowledge about para-sport and to organize the para-sport in a way that will ensure attractive and competitive event for the limited number of wis-soldiers that CISM has
