Preparatory Meeting of the 3rd CISM World Winter Games

 

 

SOCHI (RUS) - Early in the morning, the preliminary meeting of the 3rd CISM World Winter Games Sochi 2017 took place in the Radisson Blu Resort and Congress Center. Colonel Abdulhakeem Alshino, the CISM President, Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, the CISM Secretary General, Colonel Oleg Botsman, CISM Chief of Delegation of the Russian Federation, BoD Members, Major Guilherme Keese, CISM Project Manager of the 3rd CISM World Winter Games, Lieutenant-Colonel Jure Velepec, President of the CISM Skiing Committee as well as the Chiefs of Mission of the participating nations attended this meeting.

 


384 athletes from 25 nations will participate in this mega event during the 4 days of competition. 7 sports will be scheduled: biathlon, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, ski orienteering, sport climbing, short track speed skating and ski mountaineering.

 


During this preparatory meeting, the participants were informed about general information related to the 3rd World Winter Games such as the detailed program of events, the participating countries, the transportation, the catering and accommodations, the sport issues, the venues, the awarding ceremonies, the press, the cultural program, the special events and the anti-doping program. The meeting ended up with a Q&A session.

 


Tomorrow, the CISM BoD members will gather for the first Board of Directors meeting while the first competitions and the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd World Winter Games will take place on January 24.

  • 10:00 (GMT +3) - Ski Moutaineering - Individual Race (Women - Men)

  • 11:00 (GMT +3) - Sport Climbing (Lead - Women/Men, Qualification)

  • 13:25 (GMT +3) – Biathlon – Sprint (10km Men)

  • 15:55 (GMT +3) – Biathlon – Sprint (7,5km Women)

  • 16:00 (GMT +3) – Short Track (500m Women & Men)

  • 20:00 (GMT +3) – Opening Ceremony of the 3rd World Winter Games Sochi 2017
