Wuhan City Tour Embraces Media

WUHAN (CHN) - Around 100 Journalists from home and abroad visited Jiang'an District on October 18, embarking on a city tour. They visited Pinghe Packing Factory and learned about how this century-old factory has been transformed into an innovative center. They also visited Jiqing Street and the Yangtze Crossing Museum.

The city tour is a sideline event during the Wuhan Games aiming to acquaint media representatives with Wuhan's history, culture and society.

Prior to the tour, authorized reporters and journalists reporting on the Games boarded the Zhiyin Cruise on the night of October 17. They enjoyed a panoramic view of the light show along the Yangtze River that flows by the host city.

The Zhiyin Cruise is the first multidimensional immersive live show on the Yangtze River. Unveiled in 2017, the show is an experiential play in which spectators and actors interact on an old-style sailing ship that takes people back to the old Wuhan in the 1920s.

The reporters and journalists watched the Zhiyin Cruise show while enjoying the night view along the banks. They took selfies and photos of the skyscrapers, the light show and bridges along the river tour, acclaiming the view as amazingly beautiful.

Rudi Mol, a photographer from Netherlands, said that the Games not only gathered military men from different countries together, but also enabled people from other walks of life to understand one another and experience the real China.

From October 19 to 26, there will be a daily city tour arranged by the Media Services Center, inviting authorized media representatives to visit local cultural and historical sites.
