Local police introduce AI patrollers for the 7th CWG

WUHAN (CHN) - Ten car-shaped robots designed with cutting-edge AI technologies were introduced by local police on Saturday to take over some patrolling duties inside the Athletes' Village and venues of the 7th CISM Military World Games (7th CWG).

These four-wheeled robots can identify situations whenever people nearby wave for help or guidance. They also enable people to make one-button calls to the police. The robots weigh 400kg each and can run for eight hours once fully charged, with a cruising speed of up to 15 km/h.

Equipped with eight cameras and sensors, the robots can capture panoramic images and send data in real-time back to the police. Local police in central China's city of Wuhan are taking the Games as an opportunity to further explore "smart policing" with the help of advanced technologies.
