German Students Tour Athletes' Village

 

 

WUHAN (CHN) - A group of German high school teachers and students were invited to visit the German team at the CWG Athletes' Village on October 22.

Christian Luetzkendorf, the Chief of German delegation, showed them the Village and invited them to visit the German athletes at their apartments. Students were then invited to the athletes' lunch in the canteen.

Luetzkendorf mentioned that the Village is well-equipped, and the services are great. He explained that Germany had sent a large team to the Games and the athletes were achieving outstanding performance as Germany was ranked fifth of the medal ranking on October 22. Luetzkendorf also announced to students that Germany will host the 4th CISM Military World Winter Games in 2021.

The 23 teachers and students, all from Burggymnasium Essen High School in Germany, were on an autumn camp to China organized by the Confucius Institute in Ruhr. The visiting group has already visite the Yellow Crane Tower, Yangtze River, Hubu Alley, and tasted local hot-and-dry noodles and Doupi (a pan-fried delicacy of glutinous rice and minced meat).

Andre, a 16-year-old student said they would definitely watch the competitions and cheer for the German team.
