Final day of competition at the 12th WMC Lifesaving in Montpellier

MONTPELLIER (FRA) - The 12th World Military Lifesaving Championship concluded today at the Swimming Pool Angelotti in Montpellier, marking the third and final day of the Pool events with a series of thrilling finals on May 23.

In the 50m Manikin Carry for women, Lucrezia Fabretti of Italy claimed the top spot, followed by France's Ava Pretre and Magali Rousseau. For the men's event, Simone Locchi from Italy emerged victorious, with Germany's Danny Wieck and Brazil's Guilherme Rosolen taking second and third places respectively.

The 100m Manikin Tow with Fins saw Italy's Masha Giordano triumph in the women's category, with Lola Montagut from France and Germany's Johanna Seilner rounding out the podium. The men's event was won by France's Tom Durager, with Cezary Kepa of Poland and Germany's Paul Wohlers finishing in second and third place.

In the 200m Super Lifesaver event, Lucrezia Fabretti added another gold to her tally in the women's category, with French athletes Magali Rousseau and Camille Julien taking silver and bronze. The men's race saw a win for France's Kevin Lasserre, with Adam Dubiel from Poland and Italy's Simone Locchi securing the remaining podium spots.

The 4x50m Medley Relay events showcased team efforts, with France's women's team (Magali Rousseau, Camille Julien, Margaux Fabre, and Lola Montagut) clinching first place. The German and Brazilian teams followed in second and third. The men's relay was also dominated by the French team (Mathieu Le Floch, Tom Durager, Kevin Lasserre, Jérémie Lahet), with Poland and Brazil finishing second and third.

In the 4x50m Manikin Relay, the French women's team (Magali Rousseau, Margaux Fabre, Camille Julien, Ava Pretre) took home the gold, followed by Germany and Italy. The Polish men's team (Wojciech Kotowski, Adam Dubiel, Cezary Kepa, Hubert Nakielski) secured first place, with Germany and Italy completing the top three.

The event, lauded as a success in terms of participation and performance, was expertly organized by the French Local Organizing Committee. The competition's closing ceremony is set to take place later today, celebrating the athletes' achievements and the spirit of lifesaving sport.
