Rio 2016 Olympic Games - CISM Top Athletes Results - Update 9 - Part 2

 

 

RIO DE JANEIRO –This weekend, the CISM Top athletes achieved amazing performances at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

 

Bronze medals:

In judo, the local athlete 3 SGT Rafael Silva (BRA) finished on the third place of the men’s +100kg podium.

 

 

The rowers CPT Ondřej Synek (CZE) and Pvt. Laura Oprea (ROU) took the bronze medals in their respective categories: the men’s single sculls competition and women’s eight final event.

 

 

In swimming, after his bronze medal in the men’s 400m freesyle, C.le Magg. Gabriele Detti took a second bronze medal in the individual men’s 1500m freestyle imitated by 3SGT (Army) Poliana Okimoto Cintra (BRA) in the women’s marathon swimming competition.

 

 

In the judo men’s -85kg category, HG Denis Kudla (GER) won the bronze medal contest against Lorincz (HUN) while App. Sc. Tania Cagnotto (ITA) was ranked third in the diving women’s 3m springboard final!

 

 

 

Finally the fencer András Rédli (HUN) and his teammates Imre and Somfai took the third place by winning the men’s épée team bronze medal contest against Ukraine (39-37)

 

 

Pride of place:

The Italians Car.Sc. Rossella Gregorio, Fin. Sc. Loreta Gulotta and Fin. Sc. Irene Vecchi took the 4th place of the women’s sabre team competition after their defeat againt the US team in the bronze medal contest (30-45).

 

 

 

In wrestling, both Popp Eduard (GER) and Cpl Heiki Nabi (EST) respectively lost their bronze medal contest in the men’s -130kg category against Shariati (AZE) and Semenov (RUS).
