Rio 2016 Olympic Games - CISM Top Athletes Results - Update 9 - Part 1

 

 

RIO DE JANEIRO –This weekend, the CISM Top athletes achieved amazing performances at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Gold medals:

In fencing, the First Lieutenant Sofiya Velikaya (RUS), together with Gavrilova, Egorian and Dyachenko, won the gold medal against Ukraine (45-30) in the women’s sabre team competition.

 

 

In artistic gymnastics, Se Gwang Ri, from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, took the first place of the men’s vault final contest!

 

 

In fencing, the Gendarme adjoint volontaire Daniel Jerent, from the French “Armée des Champions” won the gold medal together with Borel and Lucenay in the men’s team epée competition while in sailing, Quartier Maître de 2e classe - Charline Picon (FRA), also member of the French “Armée des Champion” topped the podium of the RS:X women category!

 

 

The Italian shooter Fin. Sc.  Niccolò Campriani managed to take the first place in the 50m Rifle 3 positions men’s final event!

 

 

Aliya Mustafina (RUS) won her third gold medal at those Rio 2016 Olympic Games with her victory in the women’s uneven bars final. Lance Corporal Scheder Sophie (GER) finished on third place of this competition.

 

 

Finally, in track & field, 3° SG (AF) Thiago Braz (BRA) won a new gold medal for the host country with his first place in the pole vault final. In this final, he managed to set a new Olympic record (6.03m) and beat the French Superstar Renaud Lavillenie.

 

 

Silver medals:

 

 

One more medal for the French “Armée des Champions” with Gendarme adjoint volontaire Jean Quiquampoix who finished on the second place of the podium of the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event.

 

 

In rowing, the Germans OMT (BA) Torben Johannesen, SU (FA) Felix Drahotta and SU (FA) Richard Schmidt took the silver medal of the men’s eight event.

 

 

The fencers Car. Enrico Garozzo, Sergente Paolo Pizzo and Fichera from Italy lost against the French team in the men’s epée team fencing gold medal contest (31-45), giving Italy a new silver medal!

 

 

In track & field, NRO Wenxiu Zhang (CHN) took the silver medal in the women’s hammer throw final while 1° C.le Magg. Rachele Bruni (ITA) was ranked second in the marathon swimming competition. Lt (Navy) Spyridon Gianniotis (GRE) imitated 1° C.le Magg. Rachele Bruni by  taking the silver medal in the men's marathon swimming competition!
