Rio 2016 Olympic Games - CISM Top Athletes Results - Update 6 

 

 

RIO DE JANEIRO – Yesterday, August 10th, for the tenth day of competitions at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the CISM Top athletes won two new medals!

In Canoe Slalom, Private Peter Kauzer (SLO) couldn’t beat Joseph Clarke (GBR) and took the silver medal of the men’s kayak single (K1) event. In the past, the Private Kauzer finished 6th in the K1 individual event in London 2012 Olympic Games and won the gold medal in K1 individual and team events at the 2011 Bratislava World Championships, 2009 La Seu d’Urgell World Championships as well as many medal in the World Cup events and in the European Championships!

 

 

 

While in fencing, the Russian Lieutenant Inna Driglazova (RUS) won the gold medal in the women’s individual foil event against Elisa Di Francisca (12-11). Lieutenant Deriglazova competed in the 6th CISM World Summer Games 2015 in Mungyeong (KOR) where she also took the gold medal in the women’s individual foil competition. She also became World Champion in individual foil in 2015 in Moscow and European Champion in individual foil in the European Championships in 2016 in Toruń.

 

 

Unfortunately, her teammate Lieutenant Aida Shanaeva (RUS) lost in the bronze medal of the same event against the Tunisian Fencer Boubakri (11-15) and couldn’t add an additional medal to the military athletes’ medals collection! Lieutenant Shanaeva already won the silver medal in the London 2012 Olympic Games.
