Parachuting champions emerge amidst tight competitions at WMPC 2024

Day 7 (4)

SZOLNOK (HUN) - The fast pace of the competition continued unabated on Monday at the 46th World Military Parachuting Championship, with no sign of slowing down despite four days remaining until the closing ceremony. Given the forecast of potential thunderstorms later in the week, the decision to complete as many rounds as possible under favorable weather conditions has proven wise. If time permits, a cultural day will be scheduled towards the end of the championship.

The Meet Director prioritized the male Accuracy rounds, successfully completing rounds 6, 7, and 8 for the male competitors and up to round 7 for the female competitors. Outstanding performances were witnessed, such as the perfect jump by the UAE team in round 7.

In parallel with the male and female Accuracy events, the final (5th) round for female Style was concluded around noon, and the 4th round for male Style was completed in the afternoon. This enabled the first medals to be awarded in male individual Accuracy (after 8 rounds) and in female Style (after 5 rounds).

The male Formation competition is particularly intense, with the top two teams separated by just one point. In Team Accuracy, the host nation Hungary (33cm) is in 3rd place, only 3cm ahead of Italy and Switzerland (both tied at 36cm). These close contests, along with the individual and team overall calculations, are set to provide exciting moments for both spectators and participants.
