TASHKENT (UZB) - A press conference marking the draw for the 42nd World Military Judo Championship, the first of its kind in Uzbekistan, took place at the State Museum of the Armed Forces in Tashkent. This prestigious event is being organized in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan regarding "Measures to Further Develop the Sport of Judo" and aligns with the International Military Sports Council's calendar for 2024.
The championship is a collaborative effort involving the Ministries of Defense, Sports, Culture, and Foreign Affairs, the National Olympic Committee, the Uzbekistan Judo Federation, and the “Saxovat Sport Service” LLC sports complex. Nearly 400 military athletes, delegation leaders, referees, and distinguished guests from 30 countries are participating, including Mr. Johannes Daksbeker, a representative from the International Judo Federation.
The competitions are being held at the “Saxovat Sport Service” sports complex in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent. Athletes will compete vigorously for a total of 144 medals across two categories: individual and team events, with 64 medals available in individual competitions and 80 in team contests.
