ECKERNFÖRDE (GER) - The third day of the 53rd CISM World Military Naval Pentathlon Championship has concluded in Eckernförde, Germany, with the athletes delivering outstanding performances in the Seamanship Race. As the competition heats up, military athletes from across the globe continue to showcase their resilience, skill, and camaraderie.
In the Men's Seamanship Race, Germany's Janik Hoffmann secured first place with an impressive time of 03:33.7, earning 1353 points. Close on his heels was Brazil's Max Leal dos Santos, who finished in 03:35.3, securing 1350 points. Brazil's João Pedro Oliveira Farche claimed third place with a time of 03:52.9 and 1315 points.
The Women's Seamanship Race saw a remarkable performance from Sweden's Justina Lundberg, who claimed first place with a time of 04:09.3, earning 1282 points. Brazil's Tatiane Pereira de Souza took second place with 1276 points, finishing in 04:12.0, while her compatriot Michelle Clerc de Matos secured third place with a time of 04:15.3, earning 1270 points.
In the individual female category, Brazil's Tatiane Pereira de Souza leads with 5028 points, followed by Sweden's Justina Lundberg with 4940 points and Spain's Debóra Hernández Vázquez with 4752 points. Brazil continues to dominate in the team standings, leading with 9777 points, while Spain and Sweden follow closely with 9428 and 9425 points, respectively.
In the male category, Germany's Janik Hoffmann maintains his lead with 5124 points, with Brazil's Max Leal dos Santos (5010 points) and João Pedro Oliveira Farche (5002 points) in second and third places, respectively. Brazil also leads the male team standings with 19729 points, with Spain (18340 points) and Finland (17477 points) trailing behind.
The final event of the championship, the Amphibious Cross-Country Race, will take place today on August 30th. This decisive race will determine the ultimate champions of the 53rd CISM World Military Naval Pentathlon Championship, adding an extra layer of excitement as the athletes vie for the title.
