BRUSSELS – Wednesday May 11, Nigerian delegation visited the CISM Headquarters and was welcomed by the Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, CISM Secretary General.
The delegation was composed of members of the National Defence College of Nigeria (Navy Commodore SO Obadina, Air Commodore EO Chukwu, Brig-Gen MO Enendu, Col. EO Aikhomu, Capt. (NN) JU Okeke, Col. H Amhed, DCP SB David, Col. AK Umoh, Capt. (NN) AU Chugali, Gp Capt. IO Abatan, Col. AO Kalejaiye, Capt. (NN) SC Igwe, Col. HE Nzan, Col. NT Mendie, Col. AA Adekoya and Col. WE Ogar) and two delegates of the Nigerian Embassy: Mr. Ahmed Sulu-Gambari (Minister Counsellor/Head of Chancery) and Mrs Faguwa (Counsellor).
The delegation visited the CISM Headquarters in the framework of a Political World Tour: “National Defence College Course 24 Geo-Strategic World Study Tour to Belgium”. During this visit, the participants had the opportunity to attend presentation of the CISM staff in order to bring them knowledge about the CISM activities.
Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, CISM SG and Olivier Verhelle, Administration and Human Resources Director, gave a brief overview of the CISM history, CISM activities and Nigeria’s situation within CISM. Colonel Carlos Santos, CISM Sports Director, presented the 2016 and 2017 CISM events calendars while Colonel Bello, CISM Technical Assistance and Solidarity Project Manager, highlighted the CISM Solidarity Plan and Major Groen, World Winter Games & World Cadet Games Project Manager presented the next CISM World Cadet Games 2018 in Indonesia.
Finally, David Vandenplas, CISM Media & Communications Manager, introduced the CISM Communication tools.
Those meetings were very successful and CISM encourages the other Member Nations to organize such initiatives.
