LUCERNE (SUI) - The 5th CISM Military World Winter Games have officially begun, and Switzerland is embracing the arriving nations with warm hospitality. Since the early hours of the morning, delegations from across the globe have been arriving, filled with anticipation for an extraordinary week of intense competition, friendship, and international collaboration.
The 5th CISM Military World Winter Games have begun, and the delegations from around the world have arrived in Switzerland. With great anticipation and warmth, the athletes, coaches, and officials were welcomed. The Swiss Armed Forces and the organizing teams have done an outstanding job logistically to ensure a smooth arrival.
From Zurich airport to buses, cars, and public transportation – every arrival was meticulously coordinated. Thanks to careful planning, the delegations were swiftly and safely directed to their accommodations. Despite the high demands, everything went as planned: the Swiss Armed Forces troops were ready to greet the arriving guests in Lucerne and ensure a pleasant onward journey.
The arrival halls and reception zones at the accreditation centre were filled with a special atmosphere: excitement, joy, and the happiness of reunion hung in the air. Everywhere, there were warm greetings, tight hugs, and smiling faces. Many of the athletes, coaches, and officials know each other from past CISM events – friendships have been formed and grown over the years. Now they meet again, and it feels as if they’ve never been apart.
The guiding principle of CISM, "Friendship through Sport", is already palpable. It’s about much more than just athletic competition. It’s about solidarity, cultural exchange, and the unity that sport fosters. There is a warm, almost familial atmosphere.
As the teams settle into their quarters, the excitement for the upcoming competitions continues to grow. The days ahead promise not only athletic excellence but also a week full of emotions, international friendships, and lived solidarity. Lucerne and the surrounding regions are ready – the 5th CISM Military World Winter Games can begin!
