H.E. Mr. José Mucio Monteiro Filho, Minister of Defense of Brazil, visit the CISM Headquarters

BRUSSELS (BEL) - The CISM Headquarters had the honor of welcoming a distinguished Brazilian delegation, led by H.E. Mr. José Mucio Monteiro Filho, Minister of Defense of Brazil. The delegation was warmly received by the CISM President, Colonel Nilton Rolim, along with the CISM HQ staff.

The Brazilian delegation comprised esteemed members including H.E. Mr. José Mucio Monteiro Filho, Minister of Defense of Brazil; General Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, Brazilian Air Force Commander; H.E. Mr. João Mendes Pereira, Ambassador of Brazil to Belgium and Luxembourg; Colonel Aislan Brum Cursi, Defense and Aeronautical Attaché in France and Belgium; Lieutenant-Colonel [Name], Head of the Medical Division at the Brasilia Air Force Hospital; and Major Rafael Domingos Rodrigues, Head of the Brazilian Liaison Office at EUROCONTROL.

During their visit, the delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with CISM President Colonel Rolim and the CISM staff, focusing on enhancing military sports cooperation and fostering stronger ties between Brazil and the international military sports community.

The CISM President also awarded the CISM Order of Merit to General Marcelo Kanitz Damasceno, Brazilian Air Force Commander, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to military sports.

Colonel Rolim expressed his gratitude for the visit and emphasized the importance of collaboration in promoting peace and solidarity through sports. The delegation also had the opportunity to tour the CISM facilities and learn more about CISM history, ongoing projects and initiatives.

As endorsed by the Brazilian Minister of Defense, CISM is a vital international sports and military diplomatic organization that unites member nations. Through its initiatives, CISM fosters understanding, cooperation, and goodwill, highlighting the value of sports as a universal language that transcends borders.

The visit marks a significant step in strengthening the partnership between Brazil and CISM, paving the way for future collaborative efforts in the realm of military sports.
