BRUSSELS (BEL) - CISM Headquarters is proud to announce that in the Paris Olympics 2024, a total of 674 military athletes from 25 countries will be competing in 34 sports. The contingent comprises 379 male and 295 female athletes, each representing the epitome of discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship.

The impact of military sports on the Olympics cannot be overstated. Historically, military athletes have been a force to reckon with, often achieving remarkable success and winning a high number of medals. Their participation underscores the synergy between military training and athletic excellence, demonstrating how the skills developed in military service—such as strategic thinking, physical endurance, and mental toughness—translate into outstanding performances in the sporting arena.

CISM has always championed the role of sports in promoting peace, camaraderie, and mutual respect among military personnel from different nations. The presence of such a significant number of military athletes in the Paris Olympics is a testament to the enduring spirit of international military cooperation and the universal values that sports embody.

We look forward to witnessing the exceptional performances of these athletes and celebrating their achievements. Stay tuned for regular updates and detailed coverage of their progress throughout the games.
