BRUSSELS (BEL) - Last Saturday, the military pentathlon community suffered a profound loss with the passing of Mr. Franz Raudner after a brief illness. Known as one of the most productive inner workers within our community, Franz served as the secretary of the Military Pentathlon Sport Committee since 2009 and was honored as a CISM Knight. His contributions, including the development of the military pentathlon website and the essential competition management software, were invaluable.

Franz Raudner has been a cornerstone of military pentathlon for many years. His technical expertise and dedication to developing equipment and software have ensured the highest standards for our sport. His reliability and innovative spirit were vital to the success of our competitions, and his absence will be deeply felt within the pentathlon family.

Franz was set to support the upcoming WMC Naval Pentathlon in Germany at the end of August this year with new, sophisticated timing software. Additionally, he was to assist in the Military Pentathlon at the Cadet Games in Venezuela this August. During the final inspection visit for these games last June, Franz offered invaluable advice to the organizers for their final preparations.

With his support, ideas, and developments, Franz’s legacy will continue to influence and enhance our sport for many years to come. He will remain eternally in our memory.
