Libyan delegation visits CISM Headquarters to strengthen collaboration

BRUSSELS (BEL) - On January 20, the CISM Headquarters in Brussels welcomed distinguished representatives from the State of Libya. HE Mr. Jalal E. A. Alashi, Ambassador of the State of Libya to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of the Mission of the State of Libya to the European Union, and Mr. Walid A. Kh. Almjrbi, Academic Attaché for the Military Attaché of the State of Libya in Brussels, were greeted by CISM Secretary General Navy Captain Roberto Recchia and Public Affairs Officer Lieutenant-Commander Florentia Sfakianou.

 

The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen ties between CISM and Libya, a valued member nation since 1969. Navy Captain Roberto Recchia offered a comprehensive presentation on CISM's activities, its history, and Libya’s contributions within the organization.

Discussions during the meeting revolved around Libya's potential for greater involvement in CISM's events and programs. Topics included expanding Libya's participation in military sports championships and fostering stronger connections within the CISM network.

 

This visit underscores CISM’s mission to promote friendship and solidarity among armed forces worldwide through sports. The Libyan delegation expressed its commitment to enhancing its collaboration with CISM, highlighting sports as a unifying force for peace and development.

 

Both parties left the meeting with renewed enthusiasm for future cooperation, reflecting the shared values of inclusivity and excellence in military sports.
