Visit of Chinese Delegation to CISM Headquarters in Brussels strengthens collaboration and promotes International Sports cooperation

BRUSSELS (BEL) - On January 25, the International Military Sports Council (CISM) welcomed a distinguished delegation from China at its headquarters in Brussels. The visit marked a significant step towards enhancing collaboration and fostering international sports cooperation between CISM and the People's Republic of China.

 

Led by Major General Zheng Wei, Chief of the Chinese Delegation to CISM, the Chinese delegation comprised esteemed representatives including Major General Yan Wenjing, Defense Advisor of the Chinese Mission to the EU, and Senior Colonel Wang Yijiang, CISM Board of Directors member & Director of Military Sports International Cooperation.

The CISM Delegation, headed by CISM Secretary General Navy Captain Roberto Recchia and CISM Treasurer General Colonel Sven Serré, warmly welcomed their Chinese counterparts, reflecting the strong partnership between CISM and China in the realm of military sports.

 

A productive working meeting commenced with a gracious welcome from CISM Secretary General Navy Captain Roberto Recchia, who expressed gratitude to the Chinese Delegation for their unwavering support and active involvement within the organization. The Secretary General provided a comprehensive overview of the achievements within each department at CISM Headquarters, highlighting the organization's commitment to promoting military sports globally.

During the meeting, presentations from each CISM director offered valuable insights into the ongoing work within the various departments at CISM Headquarters. This exchange of information set the stage for discussions on potential areas of collaboration, emphasizing event organization, knowledge sharing, and best practices.

 

Major General Zheng Wei, Chief of the Chinese Delegation, acknowledged the warm reception and expressed China's keen interest in strengthening ties with CISM. The Chinese Delegation highlighted the importance of international cooperation in military sports and expressed a shared commitment to furthering the development of such collaboration.
