In Rio, CISM actively prepares...Sochi 2017

RIO DE JANEIRO - Russia is one of our nations that counts the largest number of military athletes in Rio. CSKA, the Military sports club of the Russian Armed Forces, took the initiative to set-up an Hospitality lounge at Fort Copacabana. It was indeed the opportunity for the CISM President, Colonel Abdulhakeem Alshino, and CISM Secretary General, Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, to officially visit the temporary exhibition on military sports legends created by CSKA on that occasion. 

The 3rd CISM Winter Games, which will take place in February 2017, were at the center of all conversations, and CISM Games Flame promotional run accross Russia was largely discussed. The former multiple Olympic Champion, Mrs Svetlana Khorkina, was the ambassadress of Russian military sports excellence and expressed to the CISM President the strong expectations of all the Russian Athletes regarding the organization of those Military Games to the olympic standards and even above. She declared that the CISM Games convey a Message that goes even further than the Olympic ideals of peace.
