WARSAW (POL) - As part of his participation in the festivities marking the 30th anniversary of the Polish Armed Forces' adhesion to CISM, the CISM President General Hervé Piccirillo met with military sports and Olympic movement authorities to discuss the possibilities of organizing military sports events in Poland in the future.
In presence of Mr. Bogusław Sułkowski, Director of the Provincial Sports and Recreation Centre in Drzonków and Mrs. Anna Sulima, Head of Sports and Recreation in Drzonków, General Hervé Piccirillo, CISM president, Colonel Tomasz Bartkowiak, Chief of the Polish Delegation to CISM and Mr. Tadeusz Tomaszewski, President of the Polish Fencing Association signed a letter of intent confirming that Poland would be a candidate to host the World Military Fencing Championship in 2022.
This 48th edition of the WMC will take place in the Provincial Center of Sport and Recreation in Drzonków and will be inclusive with the integration of parasport, which is one of the CISM development priorities.
This letter of intent is further proof of the strong relationship between CISM, the Polish Armed Forces and the Polish National Olympic Committee.
