TOKYO (FRA) - After a complicated day, our military athletes have resumed their march forward with no less than five new Olympic titles on 3 July 2021.
First of all, Italian Corporal Ruggero Tita became Olympic champion in Mixed Multihull - Nacra 17 Foiling (Sailing) with her compatriot Banti, beating Great Britain by almost 10 points.
Staff Sergeant Tamás Lőrincz (HUN) faced Makhmudov (KGZ) in the final of the Men's Greco-Roman 77kg Wrestling and won a tight final with a 2-1 victory, which was synonymous with a first Olympic title for the Hungarian. A nice revenge after his disappointment in London 2021 (silver medal in -66kg).
With her teammate Grael, the young Brazilian athlete and 3rd Sergeant Kahena Kunze won her first Olympic title by being the fastest in the Women's Skiff - 49er FX Sailing, ahead of Germany and the Netherlands.
After winning her first Olympic title a few days ago in Tokyo in the Men's Synchronized 3m Springboard with her teammate Zongyuan Wang, Siyi Xie managed to win her second gold medal of these Olympic Games by beating her partner Zongyuan Wang by almost 24 points. A great performance from our two Chinese military athletes!
In wrestling, Russian Lieutenant Evloev Musa became Olympic champion in Men's Greco-Roman 97kg (Wrestling) following his victory over Armenian Aleksanyan. In the semi-finals, Musa defeated Private Tadeusz Michalik (POL) who finally finished third.
The World Military Hammer Throw Champion (Wuhan 2019) Zheng Wang, representing the Chinese Armed Forces, had to be satisfied with the silver medal in the women's hammer throw competition ahead of another military athlete, the Polish Malwina Kopron, 3rd in Wuhan and bronze medallist in Tokyo, while the Romanian Bianca Florentina Ghelber finished 6th in the competition (as in Wuhan 2019).
