Rio 2016 Olympic Games - CISM Top Athletes Results - Update 11

RIO DE JANEIRO – One more gold medal for the CISM Top athletes yesterday in Rio de Janeiro: the German Corporal Kira-Katharina Walkenhorst won the gold medal in the beach volleyball women’s competition together with Laura Ludwig. In final the German pair defeated two Brazilian military athletes: the 3° SG (Navy) Ágatha Bednarczuk (BRA) and the 3° SG (Navy) Barbara Seixas De Freitas 2 sets to 0 (21/18; 21/14).

In taekwondo, the CISM Top athletes managed to win two bronze medals:  Pvt Patimat Abakarova (AZE) defeated Soldat Yasmina AZIEZ (FRA) in the bronze medal contest of the women’s -49kg category while Pvt Luisito Pie (DOM) took the third place by winning his bronze medal contest against Tortosa Cabrera (ESP) in the men’s -58kg category.
