Rio 2016 Olympic Games - CISM Top Athletes Results - Update 10

 

 

RIO DE JANEIRO – Only 5 days left at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and yesterday, August 16, the CISM Top Athletes won 7 more medals.

 

 

And it was a very successful day for Germany with 3 medals: in canoe sprint, OF Tina Dietze (GER) and Franziska Weber took the silver medal in the women’s kayak double 500m final A. In the London 2012 Olympic Games, OF Dietze and Weber already managed to win the gold medal in the same competition! In diving, Sergeant Patrick Hausding (GER) finished on the third place of the podium of the men’s 3m springboard final. In 2008, he already won the silver medal in men’s synchronized 10m platform with his teammate Sascha Klein, but also several medals in the World and European Championships.

 

 

3° SG (Navy) Robson Donato Conceição won the gold medal in boxing  in the men's light (+60kg) category final against Oumiha (FRA).

 

 

Lance Corporal Petrissa Solja with her teammates Ying Han and Xiaona Shan won the last medal for Germany after their defeat against China (0-3) in the women’s team competition in tennis table.

 


The Austrian sailors M Cpl Thomas Zajac and Cpl Tanja Frank managed to take the bronze medal in the Nacra 17 mixed medal race.

 

 

In canoe kayak, CW2 Josef Dostál from Czech Republic took the silver medal of the men's kayak single 1000m final A.

 

 

Finally, in weightlifting, private Minasyan Gor (ARM) took the second place of the men’s + 105kg podium just right behind the Georgian athlete Talakhadze (GEO). In 2010, private Minasyan Gor won the silver medal at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games and in 2015, he won the bronze medal at the Houston 2015 World Championships.
