40th WMC Parachuting – Kubinka (RUS) – Update – Day 9

KUBINKA (RUS) – On July 28, the 40^th WMC Parachuting ended up with the last competitions and the Closing Ceremony in Kubinka. In the individual Overall Junior Male competition 2LT Tinabo Gao (CHN) won the gold medal thanks to his first place in the accuracy event and his third place in the style event. PVT Andrey Izimetov (RUS) took the silver medal (5^th place in accuracy event and 1^st place in style event) while 2LT Shanmao Lu (CHN) in finishing on the third place of the podium (2^nd place in accuracy event and 5^th place in style event). In the individual overall male competition, a new gold medal was awarded to Russia thanks to MSG Dmitrii Mastafanov, who won the accuracy event and finished at the 5^th place of the style event.

WO Giuseppe Tresoldi offered to Italia its first medal of the Championship by taking the second place (4^th place in accuracy and 5^th place in style). Another Russian athlete is completing the podium: WO Dmitrii Maksimov who took the 9^th place in the accuracy event and the 2^nd place in the style event. And the last gold medal was awarded to the host country in the team overall male competition. Congratulations to WO Dmitrii Mastafanov, WO Dmitrii Maksimov, WO Dmitry Yaryyn MSG Aleksei Bykov and MSG Andrey Savin for their impressive performance (2^nd place in accuracy, 1^st place in style and 6^th place in formation). Germany took the silver medal and Czech Republic the bronze medal. In the medal table, Russia took the first place with a total of 18 medals (8 gold, 7 silver, 3 bronze), followed by Belarus (9 medals: 3 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze) and France (8 medals: 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze).

The 40^th WMC Parachuting ended up with a wonderful Closing Ceremony and a visit of the CISM Secretary General, Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, at the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation!
