3rd World Winter Games in 2017 in Sochi will be held at the highest level

SOCHI (RUS) - The International Military Sports Council (CISM) commission led by the CISM General Secretary Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita completed the last inspection visit in Sochi from the 5th to the 8th of December. During the visit, the representatives of the International Military Sports Council and the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation inspected sports venues and infrastructure involved in the 3rd CISM World Winter Games in 2017 in Sochi.

During the inspection, the head of the Department of Physical Training and Sports of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Oleg Botsman highlighted the current strong focus on comprehensive training of volunteers for the competition. The volunteers’ program for World Military Games has already been developed.

"The military battalion of volunteers consisting of experts of physical training and sports of the Russian Armed Forces with specialized education will be created in Sochi. They will help organize all competitions, including judging, technical experts’ work, and credentials committee. That should significantly facilitate all the organizational activities," Colonel Oleg Botsman said, adding that the exact number of volunteers will be determined by January.

The CISM General Secretary, the head of the CISM delegation, Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita expressed his confidence that the World Military Games in Sochi will be held at the highest level and will confirm the motto of the CISM – "Friendship through Sport!".

"We are confident in the success of this event. All countries will contribute to the Games," said Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita.

He added that this is the second visit of the Commission to Russia, and all the delegates are satisfied with cooperation with the organizers and the level of competition’s preparations.

"We are pleased to work with such an organizer as Russia, and we are confident that we will continue to cooperate productively, and the event will be held successfully. I see a desire to carry out everything at the highest level," project manager at the World Military Games Major Johan Groen endorsed the CISM General Secretary.
