49th WMC Shooting – Doha (QAT) – Competition Day 3 & 4 in the Losail Shooting Sports Complex

 


DOHA (QAT) – On November 16 and 17, only 4 gold medals were awarded in the framework of the 49th CISM World Military Championship which gathers CISM shooters in Doha (QAT) in the Losail Shooting Sports Complex.
After winning the 25m Centre Fire Pistol Team event, China confirmed its domination with the gold medal of Yongde Jin in the individual event with a total score of 589-25x. Omkar Singh (IND – 288-25x),also triple Commonwealth Games gold medalist, finished on the second step of the podium while Hyon Ung Kim (PRK) managed to grab the bronze medal.

 


In the 300m Standard Rifle 3x20 Men Individual event, Hans Wear ensured a new gold medal for the Norwegian team with his 586-21x score. His teammate Arne Brekne Odd claimed the bronze medal (584-23x) while the silver medal was awarded to Denmark's Steffen Olsen.

 


Finally, the Thai team secured the two first places of the 25m pistol individual women's podium with the gold medal of Tanyaporn Prucksakorn (582-13x; Shoot-off 49) ahead of her compatriot Pattarasuda Sowsa-Nga (582-13x; Shoot-off 48+50) and the Chinese shooter who is completing the podium (582-19x; Shoot-off 48+47).

 


Today, in the 50m Rifle 3 Position 3x20 Women Team event, the German Shooting Team made once again a strong impression with another gold medal. Indeed, after their silver medal in the 50m Rifle 60 Prone Women Team event, Müller, Beer and Rachl took the first place with a total score of 1750-84x, ten points ahead of the Swiss team compose of Christen, Hofstetter and Bruehwiler (1740-80x). Russia (Karimova, Feklistova and Nizkoshapskaia) grabbed the bronze medal.
