Tennis: China nets every Wuhan 2019 tennis gold medal

 

 

WUHAN (CHN) - China won all five Wuhan 2019 men's and women's tennis titles after a clean sweep of the last four at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center on Saturday.

HAN Xin Yun used an accurate serving game to beat Sabina SHARIPOVA (UZB) 2-1 (6-1, 6-7, 6-0) in the women's singles final. HAN struck with 83 per cent of her first serves and 93 per cent of her second.

 

 

HAN then teamed with YE Qiu Yu to win her second gold on the day with a 2-1 women's doubles triumph over compatriots SUN Sheng Nan (CHN) and GUO Han Yu (CHN). SHARPOVA and Yasmina KARIMJANOVA (UZB) beat Poland's Zuzanna WILK and Marta LESNIAK 2-0 for the bronze medal.

LESNIAK (POL) also won the women's singles bronze with a 6-0, 7-6 victory over YE Qiu Yu (CHN).

 

 

ZHANG Zhi Zhen (CHN) beat compatriot WU Di (CHN) 7-6, 6-3 for the men's singles crown while Sriram BALAJI (IND) took bronze with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Sergey FOMIN (UZB).

In mixed doubles, China's WU Di and YE Qui Yu beat GONG Mao Xin and HAN Xin Yun 2-0 for the title while China also took both doubles titles in all-China finals.
