Russia aims to grab the first place again !

 

 

CHINA (CHN) - Though Russia has sent the fourth largest contingent to the 7th CISM Military World Games (7th CWG), its athletes and team chief have their ambitions and their ambitions have strong backups.

Hosts China, Brazil and France have sent larger teams than the Russian delegation which consist of 363 team members including 257 athletes.

Team Russia not only includes eight Olympic and 62 world champions, it is also the team which has finished at the top of the medal table in five of the previous six Games, noting Russia did not participate in the 5th World Games.

 

 

For the upcoming 7th CWG, Russia has organized 106 countrywide qualification competitions and offered 47 special training sessions for its outgoing athletes.

"Our goal is to grab the first place", said Dmitri Shokin who heads the Wuhan-bound Russian team.

In all and up till now, Russia win 62, 45, 33, 42 and 59 gold medals from the first through fourth and sixth CISM Military World Games, including gold medals in the demonstration sports.

Russia has also finished on top of the medal table of the 3rd CISM Military World Winter Games. Of the three CISM Winter Games held thus far, Russia has bagged 29 gold medals, four more than second-ranked Italy.
