THUN (SUI) – The Closing Ceremony of the 50th WMC Shooting took place yesterday, June 5, in Thun, Switzerland, in presence of Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Minister of Defence - Commander Dominique Andrey, Political-Military Adviser to the DDPS Chief - Colonel Dirk Schwede, VP Europe and Official CISM Representative for this event - Colonel Bruno Wolfensberger, PCSC Shooting - the Chiefs of Mission of the participating nations - Mr. Roman Gimmel, Councillor of the City of Thun - Brigadier Stefan Christen, Commander Engineering / Rescue Training and NBC - Brigadier Franz Nager, Commander of the Infantry Application Training - Representatives of the international and national shooting federation and local and international high authorities.
Colonel Dirk Schwede congratulated the Swiss Delegation to CISM, the Swiss Armed Forces, the city of Thun and the Organizing Committee for the excellent organization of the event! 555 participants (410 male, 145 female) from 45 CISM Member Nations took part in this event in the held in optimal conditions!
The best shooters of each category were then celebrated and received an award given by the Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Minister of Defence.
Best shooter in Rifle Women: Major Lesya Leskiv (UKR)
Best shooter in Rifle Men: Sergeant Odd Arme Brekne (NOR)
Best shooter in Pistol Women: First Lieutenant Yushi Yao (CHN)
Best shooter in Rifle Men: First Lieutenant Ruslan Lunev (AZE)
Best Nation in Rifle: Norway
Best Nation in Pistol: China
Colonel Dirk Schwede then awarded the Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin, Minister of Defence, with the CISM Order of Merit (Grand Officer) and the CISM Flag was handed over to the Chinese delegation which will host the next WMC Shooting in the framework of the 7th CISM World Summer Games 2019 in Wuhan.
